As a recipient of National Lottery funding, Theatre for Life has been able to fund ongoing free participatory work in life changing theatre projects with young people from disadvantaged  backgrounds. We are one of the hundreds of participating National Lottery-funded projects across the UK who are taking part in the #ThanksToYou campaign in this special Birthday year.

To thank National Lottery players for their support, we will be offering youth organisations an opportunity to book our 2019 outreach production of Silent Mind on mental health awareness and wellbeing.  If interested, please email your National Lottery ticket and enquiry to:

Silent Mind is a wonderful, well thought-out youth theatre production exploring mental health issues and helping to fight the stigma surrounding the open discussion and acceptance of mental health in the big wide world. It’s sure to inspire many young people and adults alike; it’s an important educational piece of art.

Visual metaphors and imagery, careful use of illuminated cubes and special lighting effects are used brilliantly to represent the brainwaves and neurophysical impulses behind each of the mental health issues, while the passion and commitment from each performer brought the personal and emotional aspects of each illness vividly to life with great authenticity.

Interview with National Youth Theatre

There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be where I am in life, both personally and professionally, without the time and dedication that Michelle put in when I was her student. An incredibly creative and talented director and teacher, Michelle continues to inspire me several years later. The creative work she produces is outstanding time after time. She has a talent for bringing out the best in people, regardless of background, experience or confidence. Cannot recommend enough.
